NOTES ON THE REMASTER: At this point I can't guarantee 100% accuracy for this guide. Updates are in progress but will take time. Levels that have been worked on will say "Remaster," rather than "Classic," in the title. In the meantime, I have attempted to provide a running count of all kills and pickups, including totals for health packs, chocolates, sellable items, and cash, as well as notebook entries, which are needed for some achievements/trophies. If I've missed any, I do apologize. Please let me know if you discover anything not mentioned here. Also, in case it's not obvious, these guides are based on classic tank controls, and I have not yet included strats for all achievements/trophies.

Angel of Darkness Remastered Video Walkthrough by Eldincy
Items: 26, including 7 health items and 3 Botanical Access Passes
Kills: 16
Upgrades: Lower Body
Notebook Entries: none
FIRST GREENHOUSE: Proceed straight through the door into the greenhouse. Go down the steps and talk to the man standing near the fountain. (screenshots)
Dialogue - Dr. Grant Muller: The scientist reveals more information about the Cabal. He says they plan to bring about a new order of life on earth, starting with the revival of the Sleeper. Eckhardt plans to use the Sleeper to breed a new race of Nephilim. In return for their help, he's promised the other Cabal members immortality. Lara is a bit skeptical, but Muller insists. He's convinced Eckhardt's plan will work, but he does hint that their previous experiments weren't completely successful. Apparently his colleague Boaz created a "Proto-Nephilim" that turned out to be not an angel but an abomination. Muller then spritzes Lara with pesticide and sneaks away.
Step into the fountain and pull on one of the gargoyles to open a secret passage in the corner to the right of the entrance when facing it. Go through, climb the ladder, pick up 2 Vector clips (1-2), and pull the switch to open the exit at the far end of the greenhouse. Drop down and return to the main room. (screenshots)
Follow the brick path forward along the left wall. Pick up a Viper clip (3) lying at the corner of the pathway. Then quickly get out of the way before the carnivorous plant on the right bites Lara or the giant pitcher plant on the left spews toxic spores. (If Lara is poisoned, you'll need to use an antidote or a large health pack.) Move into the undergrowth behind the pitcher plant. In the far left corner you'll find Vector and Mag Vega ammo (4-5). Climb up to the exit. Press the yellow button to cycle the airlock. Then exit through the other door. (screenshots)
Cutscene: The camera pulls out revealing the layout of the area. One of the liquid-filled tanks bursts open releasing a creepy, clawed mutant.
LABORATORY WITH MUTANT INCUBATION TANKS: In addition to the first humanoid mutant (1). A second identical mutant (2) spawns in the far right corner. Their long, knife-like claws can poison Lara. They can also splash venom. When you kill the first of these mutants, 9 giant pill bug-like creatures (3-11) enter through the chutes along the side walls. They emerge three at a time, so you don't have to fight them all at once, but even so, they're formidable for their size. Their bite is venomous, and they can spit toxic pink liquid, roll up and down stairs and slopes, and launch themselves into the air for short distances. It's possible to avoid the enemies in this room, but if you want the "Unnatural Selection" achievement/trophy, you must destroy them all. (screenshots)
NOTE: See the footnote for tips on completing this area with no kills.
As soon as the cutscene ends, run forward along either side of the two rows of tanks. Equip your weapon of choice. (I like the Mag Vega here, since you'll soon get more ammo for it.) Shoot the 2 humanoid mutants from a slight distance so they can't slice or poison Lara. Try to backflip away if they get close. You want to avoid their venomous claws and the purple liquid they splash at Lara. Use an antidote or large health pack if necessary. (screenshots)
When you kill the mutant that burst out of the tank, the first 3 pill bug mutants emerge from the chutes above. They also have venomous bites and spit pink sludge that inflicts poison. So try to keep your distance and shoot them quickly. Remember to press Roll to change targets when Lara stubbornly aims at the wrong enemy. When you kill the first three bugs, three more emerge. When you kill them, three more. If there's a lag, look for a bug stuck somewhere out of sight. Occasionally they'll get hung up and just roll in place. You may need to approach to get them un-stuck. (screenshots)
If you need a break, climb on one of the square newel posts at the bottom of each stone staircase. Then activate Walk so Lara doesn't step off. The bugs can't reach Lara here, and their poison attacks will only rarely splash her. If you like, you can run through your less powerful ammo, like the Rigg 09, though it will take a lot of time and bullets to kill the bugs this way. To avoid wasting ammo, make sure your shots are connecting. You'll see green hemolymph spurting out when you're doing damage. (screenshots)
Check your Statistics. When you've destroyed all 11 mutants (2 humanoid, 9 bugs), the fight is over; however, the "Unnatural Selection" achievement/trophy won't actually unlock until you finish the level.
MUTANT LAB - ELEVATED WALKWAY AND EXIT: The big door at the far end of the room doesn't open. But this is Tomb Raider; we're used to round-about routes. First go after a few pickups: There's a Mag Vega clip (6) at the end of the ledge below the pill bug chutes on the left (when facing the entrance), bandages (7) in the bushes between the stairs and the slope to the right of the entrance, and 2 more Mag Vega clips (8-9) on the long ledge below the pill bug chutes on the right. (screenshots)
When you have everything, move to the middle of the ledge where you found the two ammo clips. Jump straight up to grab the silver drainpipe, climb the pipe hand over hand to the top, then drop onto the narrow walkway. Carefully follow it to the right. Turn the first valve. Now head for the far end of the walkway. When you reach the broken section, use short hops (Walk + Jump) to clear the gaps. Continue to the second valve and turn it. This opens a trapdoor at the bottom of the tank from which the first mutant emerged. (screenshots)
Climb down the ladder near the second valve as far as you can. If you drop to the floor from there, Lara will lose some health. If you're playing with classic controls, you can avoid this by quickly releasing and re-pressing action, to grab, grab, grab the ladder as you drop, breaking Lara's fall. (Or, instead backtrack to the silver drainpipe, climb back down the way you came, and slide to the floor.) Drop through the opening in the bottom of the shattered incubator, directly ahead on the right if you've just climbed down the ladder. (screenshots)
FLOODED TUNNEL & STEAMY PASSAGEWAY: Lara lands in a pool of green, slimy water. Climb out and follow the passage to a slope above another pool. Stand at the center of the slope where there's a strip of decorative grating on the floor. Step off, slide forward, and jump at the end of the slope to grab the ladder ahead. Climb up and take the small medipack (10). Proceed through the door, follow the steamy passageway, climb the stairs, and go through another door. (screenshots)
NOTE: If you miss the ladder and splash down in the pool, I recommend reloading so you don't miss the medipack. If you don't have a convenient save and/or don't care about 100% completion, follow the alternate route shown on the page with screenshots.
ROOM WITH POOL & ORNATE METAL WALKWAYS: Avoid the Leviathan (not killed), a huge fishlike mutant living in the pool. (In the classic game on PC, it wouldn't harm Lara, but in the remaster it absolutely will.) There's also a hazmat-suited guard (12) on patrol here. If you come through the door beyond the steamy passageway, he'll probably be just below you. Kill him quickly. (If Lara aims at the mutant instead of the man, press Roll to switch targets.) (screenshots)
The exit is on the far side of the room. In order to climb over there, you'll need to shut off the steam venting from one of the pipes along the right wall. The valve that does this is on the larger pipe along the opposite wall. So descend to the metal platform just above the surface of the pool. Carefully jump out onto the pipe and activate Walk so Lara doesn't fall off. Pick up the Mag Vega clip (11) and turn the valve. Walk back along the pipe and jump over to the ledge. (screenshots)
The "Into the Hellmouth" achievement/trophy requires you to "swan dive into the Leviathan's reservoir." There's no need to dive from any great height, so this is a perfect spot. Aim for the pool, start walking forward, then press Jump to swan dive. The achievement/trophy should pop when Lara hits the water. Climb out of the pool using either ladder. (screenshots)
NOTE: If you miss this opportunity for "Into the Hellmouth," you can try again the AQUATIC RESEARCH AREA.
Now head for the vine-covered corner below and to the left of the entrance from the steamy passageway. Face the wall to the right of the corner. Jump up and grab the vines. Then climb upward, right, and up some more to reach the ledge above. The door ahead doesn't open. So climb the ladder to the high walkway and use the switch to move a small platform toward the far end of the room. (screenshots)
Next, you're headed for the walkway with the square opening and ladder below on the left. The vine-covered ceiling here is climbable, but it's easier to just take a running jump down to the ledge with the ladder. (Or, follow the alternative path on the page with screenshots.) Beyond the ladder, on the other side of the curved planter, you'll find Viper and Mag clips (12-13), plus some health pills (14). (screenshots)
Vault over the railing opposite the ladder to land on the stairs below. Step out onto the narrow ledge running along the brick wall and sidestep toward the pipes. (If you used the valve to turn off the steam earlier, it's safe now.) Climb the vertical pipe upward then left to grab the narrow ledge. Traverse to the left, around the corner, and pull up. (screenshots)
Save here because the next jump is tricky. Face the exit, then angle Lara slightly to the left, so she's lined up with the outer corner of the ledge she's standing on. Take a running jump to grab the right end of the ornate railing ahead, and pull up onto the walkway. Climb down to the exit. Or, if you're having trouble with the tricky jump, instead take the intended route: Climb the vine-covered wall and ceiling and drop onto the dangling platform you moved earlier. Details are on the linked page with screenshots.
Press the button to open the exit. Go in and press another button to cycle the airlock so you can enter the next room. (screenshots)
ROOM WITH GIANT MUSHROOMS & VALVE PUZZLE: Follow the walkway to the right. A brief cutscene shows a huge vine pulling the exit doors shut and holding them fast. Climb/drop down to the ground and head toward the raised walkway opposite the door with the vine. Underneath you'll find a Mag Vega clip (15). Climb the stairs to the valves. Each of the 5 valves is labeled with an arcane symbol. The diagrams on the bulletin board to the left show different chemical mixtures you can make by turning different valves. Push the table away from the bulletin board to reveal a clue. The diagram with the red 'X' shows a bad mixture for plants. Turn the valves corresponding to the symbols indicated in that diagram: valves 1, 2, and 4 from left to right. Now pull the lever on the right. This feeds the bad mixture to the giant vine, killing it and opening the doors. Exit there. (screenshots)
Cutscene: A flyby of the new area. Most important is the dead guard with the keycard on one of the higher walkways.
HUGE GREENHOUSE WITH CATWALKS: There's a very alive guard (13) on patrol off to the right. Kill him with weapons or stealth and take his BOTANICAL LOW ACCESS PASS (16). Beyond his post in the far right corner is a short hallway with 3 card readers. This is the exit. You'll need three botanical access cards to get out. You've already got one. (screenshots)
As you explore, watch out for the plants. The ones that can move will attack and poison Lara if she gets too close. They are pretty, though. I'll give Muller credit where credit's due. Go to the raised plant bed in the middle of the room and climb the ladder to the walkway above. Now you're on LEVEL 2. Head forward then left. Climb two two flights of stairs to LEVEL 4. Here you'll find a blue door, which only opens from the other side, 2 more guards (14-15) off in the distance (ignore them for now), and a series of small ledges arranged so you can jump across the slippery glass roof of the smaller greenhouse. (screenshots)
Take a short hop (Walk + Jump) from the first ledge to the second. Then a regular standing jump from the middle of the second ledge down to the third. At this point, you may get a clear shot at the guard (14) on the upper walkway. Kill him if you like or wait until you get closer. (screenshots)
NOTE: If you don't care about 100% completion, you can skip the next paragraph and continue across the greenhouse roof.
If you want all pickups, you'll need to take a slight detour here. Turn to face up the sloped roof and step off the edge of the block. Slide back and grab the edge of the greenhouse roof. Traverse to the left a little if necessary and drop onto the narrow ledge above the green pool. Walk to the corner and pick up the bandages (17). Jump into the pool, swim to the steps, and climb out. Then retrace your steps up the ladder and stairs to the glass roof. (screenshots)
This time, take a short hop from the first ledge to the second, a standing jump from the middle of the second block to the third, and another standing jump from the third to the fourth. Walk to the outer corner of the fourth block and take a standing jump to grab the edge of the walkway ahead. Pull up and shoot that guard (14) if you didn't do so earlier. (screenshots)
At this point, you're still on LEVEL 4. Follow the walkways around to the left. As you pass the circular clump of spiky plants, Lara says she's not strong enough to make the long jump to the far walkway. Instead, head left. Turn left again at the big tree. Go to the blue door and open it. This isn't necessary, but it saves you from having to jump across the roof again if you fall later on. From the blue door, return past the big tree and continue straight on to the far wall. Follow the walkway around to the left until you come to a gap. (screenshots)
Take a running jump across the gap to grab the opposite edge. Pull up. This gives Lara the lower-body strength upgrade she needs to get across the wider gap. Get the large health pack (18) and then jump back to the other side. (This time you won't need to grab, since Lara can jump farther.) (screenshots)
Return to the wide gap near the circular planter. Before jumping across, hang from the edge of the broken walkway. Pull up into a handstand (hold Walk then press Forward + Action) to unlock the "Perfect Mimicry" achievement/trophy. (screenshots)
Now take a running jump across the wide gap. Even with the strength upgrade, you'll need to line it up carefully, along the left side, where the broken edges jut out a little farther. Pull up on the other side and head to the left, up the stairs to LEVEL 5. (Watch out for the opening in the floor in the corner.) Follow the walkway to the end. Climb the vine-covered pipe, traverse to the right, and pull up on LEVEL 6. (screenshots)
Cutscene: Lara sees Dr. Muller working on a computer. Eckhardt and Gunderson approach Muller demanding to know what's going on. Muller tells them it's not his fault; the power is down everywhere. Gunderson takes over at the computer and soon has things under control. Then Boaz arrives with news of problems down in the Sanatorium. She confesses that she didn't kill the Proto-Nephilim as Eckhardt ordered. Boaz says that because the Proto is half Nephilim, it can only be killed with Eckhardt's Periapt Shard. Eckhardt is not too thrilled about this. He sends Gunderson to clean up Boaz's mess and, as punishment, feeds her to one of Muller's "creations." Joachim Karel, the blond in the red scarf, has nothing to say at this point.
After the cutscene, continue forward to the dead guard. Pick up his BOTANICAL HIGH ACCESS PASS (19) and the Viper clip (20) near the end of the walkway. Vault over the railing to land on the walkway below (LEVEL 5). Return around the corner and down the stairs to LEVEL 4. (screenshots)
Move forward to the end of the walkway. (The wide gap where you made the long jump will be on Lara's right.) Try to shoot the guard (15) below when he's close to the stairs rather than the planter. This will make it easier to retrieve the card he drops. To get down without losing health, hang from the edge of the walkway and traverse to the right. Climb along the vines to the right then drop onto the stairs. Steal the guard's BOTANICAL MEDIUM ACCESS PASS (21). If he fell near the planter, don't linger, since the pitcher plant spews toxic spores, and the two pink flowers slash out with their venomous stamens. (screenshots)
Go down the stairs (to LEVEL 3) and follow the walkway toward the glass greenhouse. Pick up a Mag clip (22) at the end. Climb down the broken ladder and drop to GROUND LEVEL. Watch out for the attack broccoli just to the left of the ladder. (screenshots)
You should now have all three BOTANICAL ACCESS cards. Head for the exit in the corner of the room nearest the stairs leading up out of the green pool (i.e., the far right corner if Lara's back is to the entrance and she's facing the glass greenhouse). Use the various BOTANICAL ACCESS PASSES in the 3 card readers to open the exit. (screenshots)
NOTE: If you took advantage of the respirator bug in the Louvre levels and have extra respirators, you might want to use one now. Or, you can save them for the underwater areas in later levels.
DARK AREA WITH STEAM PIPES & POISON GAS: Go down the stairs to a dark, greenish room. The lower level is full of poison gas, so if you want the remaining pickups, you'll need to move quickly. (If you don't care about 100% completion, just proceed to the exit.) To get everything with minimal injury, follow the elevated walkway to the first square opening on the right. Position Lara above the Vector ammo (23) on the floor below. Drop down, grab the ammo, and and run toward the far left corner of the room. Pick up another Vector clip (24) lying on the floor behind the square support column. Then run for the small pool. The gas can no longer affect Lara underwater. So quickly pop an antidote if necessary, to avoid losing any more health. But don't bother healing unless Lara is near death, since you're almost done with the level. (screenshots)
Swim through to another small room. Climb out on the ledge and pull the small box under the hole in the walkway above. Climb onto the box and pull up through the opening onto the walkway. The door is jammed. So search the left and right lockers to find bandages (25) and health pills (26). Then hop in the water and swim back to the poison gas room. Climb out of the water on the right and run/sprint to the stairs, where it's safe. (screenshots)
Cross the elevated walkway to the far end, and proceed through two airlocks end the level. (screenshot)
If you destroyed all 11 mutants near the beginning of the level, the "Unnatural Selection" achievement/trophy should unlock during the cutscene.
Cutscene: Kurtis traps Lara inside the airlock to keep her from wreaking more havoc while he sorts out a few things. Before he takes off, Lara makes sure he sees the Periapt Shard she took from him at the Louvre. Turnabout is fair play. ;) And now he'll be sure to return.

*NOTE ON LEVEL MAPS: VGCartography's Angel of Darkness maps follow a slightly different level-numbering convention than I do. You'll notice most of the Parisian Ghetto-adjacent areas on the same large map. Later, the elemental levels off the Hall of Seasons are included on the same map as the hub level. Visit VGCartography on DeviantArt and follow on Twitter/X and YouTube for more fantastic game maps.
AVOIDING THE MUTANTS IN THE INCUBATOR ROOM: If you don't care about achievements/trophies, you can complete this area with all pickups while avoiding the mutants entirely. As soon as the cutscene ends, turn left and take a running jump into the overgrown corner below the steps. Roll, pick up the bandages (6), then move out into the open. Run/sprint along the right side of the incubation tanks toward the far end of the room. The clawed mutants will probably be headed for the corner where you found the bandages, but if they are lurking nearby, don't kill them, since this is what causes the pill bug mutants to spawn. Run/jump past them and climb the stairs on the right to the elevated walkway. Turn right and sprint to the end, where you'll find a Mag Vega clip (7). Slide down to the floor, turn right, and sprint toward the far end of the room once more. When you pass the tanks, turn left and run up the other set of stone stairs to the upper ledge. At the top, turn left and sprint forward. About halfway along, pick up another Mag clip (8). Sprint to the far end and get a third Mag Vega clip (9). (screenshots)
Meanwhile, the mutants should be milling around below trying to figure out how to get to Lara. If they've reached the elevated walkway, you can slide down to the floor then run back around to the stairs and climb back up. With any luck both mutants will get stuck and you can move freely. In the middle of the elevated walkway, where you found the second ammo clip, jump straight up to grab the silver drainpipe, and climb up to the walkway above the incubators. Continue, following the main walkthrough, to the exit. (screenshots)
