DARK MODE?

The Deck - Cabin Key and "A Land Walk" Achievement/Trophy

IMPORTANT: The next achievement/trophy, "A Land Walk," requires you to "get the cabin key from the inflatable boat without swimming in the underground lake." If you do fall in the water, you'll have to reload, although it's fine to save as many times as you like along the way. For "No Fish Soup Today," begun back in 40 FATHOMS, you must not injure or take damage from sharks. So avoid the shark-infested water for now and follow the route described below. If you don't care about achievements, instead use the "traditional" route in the archived classic walkthrough or the max-kills route described in a footnote following the main walkthrough. All three routes include every pickup.

After draining the water from the STERN and following the passageway to the cave behind the huge propeller, as shown in the last section, approach the lake, but don't go in yet.

In order to reach the INFLATABLE RAFT in the middle of the lake without swimming, we'll start by making our way around the edge of the lake along the right side. Step up onto the darker blue rocks just ahead on the right.

There's one level tile at the top of this formation. Walk to the far corner of this tile.

To set up the next jump, pivot to face the the top of the darker slope ahead, just below where it meets the light blue stone. Hop back once.

Then take a running jump over the peak of the slope...

...and slide down the other side.

Turn right and vault up onto the low, light blue ledge.

Walk along the uneven ledges, forward then left. (Walking will prevent Lara from stepping onto any slope that's too slippery to stand on.)

When you can't go any farther, jump forward to the next flat area, near the cavern wall.

Follow this ledge forward, keeping the wall on Lara's right.

At the bottom of the slope, when you can't go any farther, walk almost to the outer corner of the ledge, then turn right to face the large, light blue rock formation. Notice how it has a flat area just above the water. Take a standing jump, grab the right end of that flat ledge...

...and pull up.

Turn left and follow the ledge forward to the base of the next steep slope.

Stand at the base of the slope. Step forward and left as far as possible. Then pivot slightly to face just to the right of the point where the two steep, light-colored blocks meet. (The idea is to avoid both the low hanging ceiling on the right and the steep slope on the left.)

Take a standing jump to the top of the slope.

Continue forward along the ledge, with the pool on Lara's left, until you can't go any farther.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
Take a running jump across the narrow strip of water to the dark blue ledge ahead and a little to the left.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
From there, take a running jump to grab the edge of the next nearly flat block near the far right corner of the cavern. (It's OK if Lara's feet dangle in the water. You just don't want to go full mermaid.)

Pull up.

DARK MODE: I plan to add optional dark mode for these pages, but my current priority is updating the walkthroughs. Meanwhile, may I suggest a reputable dark mode browser extension, such as Dark Reader? (Download only from trusted sites, like darkreader.org or your browser's official add-on/extension site.)
