The Deck - Level Start and Fourth "Fire Safety" Encounter - Stern Key
NOTE: The "Fire Safety" achievement/trophy is introduced in the DIVING AREA. In this guide, we'll first set Lara on fire and put it out for the achievement. Then reload and replay this section for all kills and pickups. If you don't care about achievements, skip directly to the no-flames approach.
Save the game at the starting point. Turn right but don't move forward. The first flamethrower (1) (4/9 for "Fire Safety") approaches after a little while. (If you run out onto the deck, you'll trigger another enemy, making things more complicated.)
When he gets close, roll to face away from him, and wait for him to set Lara on fire.
Then quickly run and jump up onto the second windowsill on the right, healing as you go.
Run off the other side...
...and fall into the pool below.
Now, reload and replay for all kills and pickups. From the starting point, go to the right...
...and take out the flamethrower guy and a wrench guy (1-2) from a safe distance.
Pick up the small medi pack (1) one was carrying.
Go around to the other side of the deck...
...and grab 2 pairs of grenades (2-3) left lying on the ground.
NOTE: One of these will be the GRENADE LAUNCHER, if you don't already have it.
Return to the corridor where you started.
Climb into the window once more...
...and dive into the pool below. There are 2 barracudas (3-4) in the water. So either harpoon them or climb out on the small, square ledge on the left...
...and use your pistols.
Climb the rocks around the perimeter of the cave...
...to reach the STERN KEY (4). When you have the key, hop back in the water and swim through the tunnel below on the left when facing the rusted hull.
Follow the flooded tunnel forward, right...
...left...
...then straight onward, up a slope covered in seaweed. At the upper end of the tunnel is an opening where you can surface. (Stay alert. There are enemies above.)
