After climbing to the top of the cavern and using the GOLD KEY to open the door, as shown in the previous section, save the game before entering the next room, especially if you're going for achievements/trophies. This one is a little tricky, and will probably take a few tries.
"Jaws of Death" achievement/trophy requires you to "jump over the three boulders on the center road on the way to the cat image without getting hurt." There are lots of YouTube guides showing different solutions with both classic and modern controls. But if you're struggling, it is possible to cheese this one by jumping over the first boulder and completely avoiding the second and third.
Start by taking running jumps up the steps toward the middle ramp, as the door closes behind you and 3 boulders (2-4/10) come rolling down the 3 ramps. When you get to the top step, run forward...
...and try to jump when Lara is about
this far from the approaching boulder.
If her foot skims the boulder, you'll see blood and your health bar will appear, showing she's taken damage. Reload and try again.
If you clear the first boulder without injury...
...stop and take a breath.
Run up the ramp just until you see the next boulder (5/10) drop from the ceiling. Then turn to either side...
...hop back, and grab the edge of the ramp.
Hang there and wait for the boulder to pass. Then pull up.
Run up the ramp until just before the two gold stripes...
...and again turn, hop back, and grab the edge...
...as the third boulder (6/10) drops and rolls past. Two more boulders (7-8/10) also drop and roll down the left and right ramps.
Pull up and continue to the top of the ramp. As you approach the carved cat face, the achievement/trophy should unlock. (You should also have triggered all 7 boulders in this area for the game-wide achievement/trophy "Roll, Action!")
DARK MODE: I plan to add optional dark mode for these pages, but my current priority is updating the walkthroughs. Meanwhile, may I suggest a reputable dark mode browser extension, such as Dark Reader? (Download only from trusted sites, like darkreader.org or your browser's web store.)
