Gallows Tree - Hillside Path with Crypts

Tomb Raider Chronicles Remastered screenshotIn the last section, you built a hand catapult and used it to destroy some historic ruins. (Typical Croft, even at this age.) If you're after the "Fail Compilation" achievement/trophy, you'll need to complete the next section without picking up the iron CLAPPER. Drop through the hole behind the bells and follow the tunnel to a HILLSIDE PATH WITH OPEN CRYPTS.

Turn around and enter the first crypt, just above the tunnel entrance.

Pick up the WOODEN TORCH (not counted as an official pickup) lying the floor.

Follow the path up the hill. The first crypt on the right is empty. The next, on the left, has a small medipack (10) (146/239). You'll need to drop the torch in order to pick up something else. Press Draw Weapon to toss the torch in front of Lara. If you drop it on the chalk path, it's easier to see.

Enter the crypt on the left and pick up the health pack.

Retrieve the torch and continue up the path.

The next two crypts have no pickups, but there's a lit torch inside the first one.

Go in and light your wooden torch on it. (Stand close and press Action.)

At the top of the hill is a closed door and a niche in the stone wall next to it. You'll return here later.

For now, throw the lit torch (Draw Weapon) down the hole at the bend in the path.

Then climb/drop down after it. (You can just step off the edge while holding the torch, but Lara will take a little fall damage.)

DARK MODE: I plan to add optional dark mode for these pages, but my current priority is updating the walkthroughs. Meanwhile, may I suggest a reputable dark mode browser extension, such as Dark Reader? (Download only from trusted sites, like darkreader.org or your browser's web store.)
