Tibetan Foothills - From Mountain Lake to Hut
"Public Service" Achievement/Trophy Introduced

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
After crashing through the wall of ice and climbing to safety, as shown in the last section, follow the tunnel to emerge on a snowy ledge high above a small mountain lake. Watch and listen for 2 vultures (3-4). They may attack right away or approach later as you explore.

There's hut and snowmobile in the distance. That's where you're headed.

NOTES: You can take a shortcut to the hut without missing any pickups. You will miss one kill, a vulture, and the achievement/trophy introduced below. Details are in a footnote. If you fall in the pool and don't want to reload, there's a small ledge where you can climb out of the water and use an ice ladder to get back to the ledge below the tunnel entrance. (screenshot) From there, you can take the shortcut or the longer route.

If you prefer the longer route, turn around and safety drop from the snowy ledge onto the slope below, slide back, and grab the edge.

Then let go and land on the flat ledge below. Enter the tunnel ahead.

Continue to a hole with water below and icicles on the ceiling beyond. For the "Public Service" achievement/trophy, you'll need to "drop all the icicles in the Tibetan levels without being hurt." So, walk to the edge of the hole, hop back once...

...then jump forward and grab the top of the icy ledge. (Or, drop into the water and climb the ice ladder from below.)

Pull up onto the ledge but don't step forward until the icicles have fallen; otherwise Lara will be impaled.

NOTE: Each tile with icicles counts as one trap. There are 19 icicle traps in all—8 in this level, 7 in CATACOMBS OF THE TALION, and 4 in the ICE PALACE. You just cleared the first three.

Jump over the fallen icicles and follow the tunnel to another opening above the lake.

Turn right. Then climb the rocks to the opening above on the left.

Enter and pull up onto the ledge on the left.

Here you'll find two openings: one above, one below.

The upper passage brings you to a dead end, where you can see but not reach the Silver Dragon behind the bars.

Instead, drop down through the lower opening. Slide down into a cave...

...with a shallow pool and more icicles (4-6/19) on the ceiling. Save the game. Then wade slowly through the pool...

...stepping on an outer corner of each tile with icicles above, to trip them one at a time...

...without injury.

When you've set off all four traps, continue through the cave to emerge on another ledge above the lake.

Turn to look out across the pool. Another vulture (5) will try and interfere. If you can't target it right away, just watch out for it as you go.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
To reach the large medi pack (3) on the ledge ahead, take a running jump to the nearly flat block against the left cliff wall...

...then another running jump from there to the block with the medi pack.

Face the cliff wall and then jump over to the ledge ahead on the left. Climb the snow ledges to the top of the canyon. Get ready to confront a couple of enemies above.

DARK MODE: I plan to add optional dark mode for these pages, but my current priority is updating the walkthroughs. Meanwhile, may I suggest a reputable dark mode browser extension, such as Dark Reader? (Download only from trusted sites, like darkreader.org or your browser's official add-on/extension site.)
