Diving Area - First Machine Chip and "The True Dettox of Evil" Achievement/Trophy
After reaching the HELIPAD and unlocking the "Anger Management" achievement/trophy, as shown in the previous section, continue across the helipad into the control room beyond.
The narrow passageway on the left has 2 lit burners with a trapdoor between them and a square object sitting on the floor at the end. The switch on the right turns off the first burner for about 24 seconds; the button on the left turns off the second burner for about 15 seconds. We'll do this sequence in two stages.
For the first part, you'll only need to extinguish the first burner. So save the game, pull the switch, side flip to the left...
...then run forward onto the trapdoor.
It collapses, dropping Lara into a shallow pit.
Roll (either while the trapdoor is opening or as soon as you hit the floor). Then run forward (i.e., back toward the first burner) so Lara hits the wall of the pit.
Pick up the M16 RIFLE and ammo (18-19).
Press Forward + Action to quickly climb out of the pit. Then run past the burner before it reignites. Obtaining this weapon unlocks the "The True Dettox of Evil" achievement/trophy.
NOTE: If you're too slow and the burner comes back on, it's still possible to get out safely. Stand facing either side wall. Step forward so Lara's chest is against the wall. Sidestep until Lara's foot touches the edge of the tile with the burner. Then side flip over the burner to safety.
Lara will take a little heat damage but she shouldn't catch fire.
Next, you'll need to turn off both burners in order to get safely to the end of the hallway and back. Once again, pull the switch to extinguish the first burner and side flip to the left.
This time, sidestep three times to the left (Walk + Left), then press the button to turn off the second burner.
Side flip to the right...
...and run along the passageway, jumping over the open trapdoor as you go.
Quickly pick up the FIRST MACHINE CHIP (20) at the end of the passageway...
...roll...
...run and jump back over the trapdoor, and past the first burner.
Or, if timed runs stress you out, use the switch and the button, run and jump to reach the machine chip, then side-flip past both burners, as shown above.
