The Deck - Seventh and Eighth "Fire Safety" Encounters,
Seraph Artifact, and Level Exit
In the last section, we obtained the Jade Dragon secret and dropped back down to the MAIN DECK.
Now, move to the other side of the MAIN DECK, just beyond the broken railing. Take a running jump onto the overturned hull and slide down to the CAVERN FLOOR.
Head to the left...
...past the pool and the huge propeller, toward the far side of the cavern.
Beyond the OVERTURNED HULL, turn right and save the game. Then hop your way up the hill to confront those pesky flamethrowers (29-30) (7-8/9 for "Fire Safety"). They approach from the area with the movable crates, at the top of the hill on the right.
The goal is to separate them, so you can tell which one has set Lara on fire. Then quickly kill just that one, run to the pool to extinguish the flames, and return to repeat the process with the other flamethrower. If you accidentally kill one of them before he sets Lara on fire, you'll have to start over. Here's the sequence:
Move almost to the top of the hill and ready your most powerful weapon, preferably the grenade launcher. Make sure the enemies are far enough apart so you can tell which one is targeting you. (If they're too close together, reload or run back down the hill out of sight, and try again.)
Let one of them set Lara on fire, then immediately kill him with a grenade.
Roll...
...and run/jump/slide down the hill...
...to the pool, feeding Lara medipacks as you go. Once you make it into the waist-deep water, the flames will extinguish.
If everything has gone well, save in a new slot and climb the hill once more.
Let the second flamer set Lara on fire, roll...
...and run back down to the pool...
...to put out the flames.
Now, reload and continue with full health. This time, kill the 2 flamethrowers (29-30) from a safe distance, sliding back down the hill if they get too close. When the coast is clear, return to the top of the hill and look for the STORAGE ROOM entrance on the left.
Use the STORAGE KEY in the lock.
NOTE: If you missed the STORAGE KEY, directions for backtracking are in a footnote following the main walkthrough.
Enter and pick up the SERAPH (35) to end the level.
NOTE: The achievement/trophy "We Are Searching the Right Place," unlocks automatically when you
finish the Offshore Rig and Maria Doria chapters. "No Fish Soup Today" also unlocks on the level-end statistics screen if you didn't harm or take damage from sharks. There's one more flaming enemy for "Fire Safety," but you won't meet him until the end of the game.
