DARK MODE?

Bartoli's Hideout - Level Start

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
You start this level in your boat in a dark enclosure. Proceed straight ahead. The gate opens automatically.

Pull up near the big doors on the left, hop out, and shoot 2 rats (1-2). And just like that, your boating days are over...sigh!

REMINDER: Avoid being bitten by rats throughout the Venice levels for the "No Time for the Plague" achievement/trophy.

Climb the wooden stairs to the left. Draw pistols and shoot 2 more rats (3-4) that appear as you turn the corner.

As you start up the narrow, dark staircase, a thug with a club (5) comes down toward you. Kill him...

...and take his large medi pack (1).

Continue up the steps. There's another rat (6) on the ledge above. You can kill it easily by jumping in place while firing.

Vault onto the ledge, step forward, and shoot another rat (7) that spawns ahead on the right. Flip the switch...

...to open the big doors in front of the villa. Another bad guy with a baton (8) comes out.

If you move forward to the edge of the wooden ledge, you can fire at him as he approaches. Unlike dogs and rats, he can climb, though, so hop back from the edge when he gets close.

Grab the small medi pack (2) he drops.

Then return down the stairs and enter the villa with weapons ready.

NOTE: You may notice footsteps as you explore this area. There's a sniper (13, later) on one of the balconies above the front entrance. You may be able to shoot him from below, but he has a better angle. So avoid him for now.

DARK MODE: I plan to add optional dark mode for these pages, but my current priority is updating the walkthroughs. Meanwhile, may I suggest a reputable dark mode browser extension, such as Dark Reader? (Download only from trusted sites, like darkreader.org or your browser's official add-on/extension site.)
