Galleries Under Siege - Starting Area and Gas-Filled Galleries

Run forward up the stairs. Turn left...

...then right.

Continue upstairs to the exhibition areas.

Shoot or tase the museum guard (1) in the first open doorway.

Grab the Vector clip (1) he drops and continue upstairs.

Cutscene: Gunderson's men infiltrate the Louvre with the aid of tear gas and large automatic weapons. Gunderson himself seems immune to the gas.

Continue to the top of the stairs. Kill or tase another guard (2).

Grab the Vector clip (2) he drops, and follow the hall...

...to a door with toxic gas leaking through it. Open the door and go through.

Lara says, "Can't breathe!" Now you'll need to get one of the RESPIRATORS shown in the short cutscene before Lara runs out of breathable air. (See the notes on poison, respirators, etc., in the main walkthrough.)

Now you're back in the VESTIBULE with the Archaeological Dig sign. Take out the commando (3) in the doorway on the left. (Three or four shotgun blasts at close range should do it.)

He drops the MAG VEGA (3) (not loaded). If you don't care about all kills, just continue through the door behind him into the next gallery (and skip to the next section of the walkthrough).

- OR -

To spawn the next 3 enemies, turn around and go through the doorway on the left, opposite the statue and Archaeological Dig Site sign.

Immediately roll to face another soldier (4), who tumbles out behind you. Then run forward and left to position Lara between him and the doorway.

This will shield Lara from 2 more mercenaries (5-6) who approach simultaneously from the far end of the gallery. Deal with the single man.

Then engage the pair. Use the shotgun at close range and either wait for them to approach...

...or run out to meet them..

If you blast them quickly, Lara shouldn't take too much damage. (Also, remember to press Roll to change targets if one of them starts shooting while Lara is aiming at the other.)

- OR -

Alternatively, if you're low on shotgun ammo, switch to handgun(s). Run forward to engage the soldiers.

Then backflip away firing.

Use the doorway for cover if it's convenient. (Again, remember to press Roll to change targets if Lara aims at the wrong guy.)

Other than the first soldier's Mag Vega, none of them drop any goodies, so there's no need to linger. Run through the door on the right side of the VESTIBULE (when facing the statue and Archaeological Dig sign).
