Underneath the Sphinx - Bull Guardians and Hieroglyph Puzzle
First get the lay of the land: 2 BULL GUARDIANS...
...2 sturdy cages on the left...
...and right sides of the hall. There's a certain symmetry there. Each cage has a switch outside which lowers and raises the bars.
Approach one of the bulls at a time to awaken it.
Roll...
...and run back to one of the cages with the bull hot on Lara's tail.
As you run into the cage, take up a position just inside the door, on the opposite side from the switch.
Face the doorway but stay close to the wall, out of the way. Then, when the bull charges into the cage...
...run out to the switch...
...and quickly use it to lower the bars...
...trapping the bull inside.
Repeat the process with the second guardian: run toward it to awaken it, roll and run back the way you came.
Run into the cage...
...and take up a position on the opposite side of the doorway from the switch.
Wait for the bull to enter the cage then run out.
Throw the switch and trap the bull inside. Now you can explore freely.
