Now follow the hallway to the left (when facing the movable block with the entrance and swinging burners behind you).

Pull the switch to open the gate and enter the next room cautiously. As you step forward, the gate closes behind you. Three giant mutants are waiting for you inside. One comes from the gate directly ahead as you enter. Two more emerge from the side gates when you reach the middle of the room. You can devise your own strategy, or try one of these.

Advance just far enough so the first gate opens, releasing the first mutant. Try not to go beyond the two low ledges on right and left, since this triggers the remaining mutants.

Kill the first mutant with your weapon of choice, while jumping up and down to avoid its fireballs.

It takes 3 rockets or 4 grenades to kill it. Other weapons will work, but there's a chance the mutant will rush Lara and back her up to the gate before she can kill them. When the mutant explodes, you're safe for now.

Now run into the middle of the room onto the tile with the jutting bit of stone. This releases the other two mutants one at a time. Roll and run back to the entrance.

Climb the ladder on the left (when facing the gate).

When you reach the ledge above...

Draw pistols or Uzis, position Lara with her back to the wall, and crouch.

You can then shoot the mutants from relative safety. As long as you don't get too close to the edge, they won't hurl fireballs. Just take your time and before long you'll be able to defeat them both. When the coast is clear, climb down.
