The Mirror's Wake - Reward Challenge Ball in Fire Pit

Both the first and alternate strategies are shown in short video walkthroughs. The first video is mine. The second video was created by Achievaholics.

In order to beat this challenge, you must get the spinning ball into the fire pit in 15 seconds or less. The timer doesn't start until the ball separates from the rest of the trap, so you can take your time setting it up. Start by planting a bomb near the axle. Stand in the opening to the right of the trap and wait for the ball to roll around so it's almost in line with the opening, as shown above.

Then detonate the bomb. With proper timing, momentum should propel the ball directly into opening.

Grab it and push it down the passage to the SE, around the corner to the NE, then up to the NW.

As you roll the ball toward the fire pit, a fire golem and several lizards appear.

Ignore the enemies for now and just concentrate on rolling the ball into the pit.

Alternatively, instead of pushing the ball all the way to the pit, roll it just as far as the protruding corner on the left. Plant a bomb behind it.

Then detonate the bomb to propel the ball into the pit.

Whichever method you use, as long as you manage to do get the ball into the pit within 15 seconds, you receive an AMMO POWERUP.

NOTES: If you know you've made a mistake (e.g., the ball doesn't roll into the passageway when you first blow up the trap, falling lava boulders slow you down, etc.), just quit and continue. As long as you don't push the ball into the fire pit and hop over it, triggering the next checkpoint, the game will reload at the previous one and you can try again.
