Opera House - The Stage and Wings

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
In the last section we returned from the DRESSING ROOM to the STAGE. When you climb up out of the flooded orchestra pit, a sandbag lands in front of you. Avoid the area around the trapdoor near the back of the stage for now. Approaching it will trip a second sandbag.

A Doberman (28) comes through the door on the left to meet you. Take care of it...

...and the bad guy (29) who starts shooting from the other side of the pool. He isn't carrying any goodies, so there's no need to search him.

But if you killed the gunman on the stage earlier, you can now loot his body for Uzi clips (18). Enter the room on the left side of the stage, where the dog came from.

Flip the switch to open the gate above the doorway on the other side of the stage. Notice the CIRCUIT BOARD sitting in the water below the floor. You'll be able to reach it in a few minutes.

(A brief cutaway shows the gate opening.)

Now cross the stage, staying close to the painted scrim at the back and running across the trapdoor to trip the second sandbag, assuming you didn't already do so by accident. (There are two more sandbags high above that won't come down yet.) Head for the doorway at the other end of the stage. When you approach it, 2 goons with clubs (30-31) come out. You can back out onto the stage so you have more room to fight, or run forward, stop at the edge of the doorway...

...and quickly pull up onto the ledge above. Just take care not to run on into the glass shards.

Turn around and shoot the goons from above. Take the large medi pack (19) one of them drops. Then enter the room they came from.

Along the two side walls are dangling sandbags that need to be brought down before you can proceed safely. Run underneath them do this.

Then return to the doorway and pull up onto the ledge above.

Move carefully around the glass shards to the raised wooden drawbridge at the end of the platform.

Take a running jump to grab the low end of the angled crevice in the brick wall. Traverse to the left until you can pull up. Climb into the alcove and flip the switch to lower the drawbridge and cue the ominous music.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshotTurn around and take a running jump back to the platform with the broken glass.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
Turn left and cross the bridge you just lowered. Stand with the end wall on Lara's right and take a running jump to grab the wooden ledge in the corner. Pull up. Then climb into the alcove above.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
Turn around and shoot the rat (32) on the high platform ahead. Then take another running jump to grab the edge of that platform. Pull up and go to the right.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
To clear the first swinging sandbag, stand to either side of it, walk to the edge of the gap in the ledge, wait for the sandbag to swing away, and then jump past it.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
Avoid the second sandbag altogether by jumping onto the flat area to the right of it. Flip the switch on the left wall...

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
...to drop a sandbag on the stage, busting open the trapdoor.

Tomb Raider II Remastered screenshot
Continue past the switch and slide down the ramp, jumping just before the end to sail through the trapdoor and land in the water below.

Instead slide down the ramp facing uphill, grab the end of the slope, pull up, and backflip into the opening.

NOTE: You can't reach the WHITE LEDGE ABOVE THE STAGE yet, so don't tire Lara out trying to jump from the slope to grab it.

DARK MODE: I plan to add optional dark mode for these pages, but my current priority is updating the walkthroughs. Meanwhile, may I suggest a reputable dark mode browser extension, such as Dark Reader? (Download only from trusted sites, like darkreader.org or your browser's official add-on/extension site.)
