TOMB RAIDER: CURSE OF THE SWORD - SUBWAY PART 2
This walkthrough covers maps 10 through 16, from the point where you ride the elevator down to the sub-basement/generator room until Lara meets Pino Lamor.
NOTE: Letter designations for switches (S#), doors (D#), save crystals (C#), etc., in the text refer to labels on the corresponding level maps. The switches are numbered to match their corresponding doors (e.g., switch 1 opens door 1, switch 3 extends ledge 3, etc.). All pick-ups are marked on the map (I hope). Enemies and hazards are noted in the walkthrough but not on the maps.
You enter this map at the top left corner, out of the first lift (L1), which cannot be used again. A thug with a club immediately attacks Lara. Take him out and then slide down the ramp to the right.
Use the save crystal (C5) and deal with the thug to the right. If you try to use the generator (G), you'll find it needs a key to shut down.
Climb the ladder above the generator. Shoot the enemy on the left from the ladder. Climb up, deal with the second bad guy on the right and then jump over to the left to get shotgun rounds. Climb back down.
Go to the right and shoot the thug on the ledge ahead before jumping over. Pick up a small medipak. Take a running jump to the next ledge on the right. Pick up an OLD VALVE (OV1). Return to the left to the generator. Now go to the left past the save crystal (C5). Again, shoot another thug on the ledge before jumping over there. Pick up 2 small medipaks and another OLD VALVE (OV2).
Jump back across to the left (save again if you want to) and then climb down either ladder to the level below. There's another club-wielding thug down here, so take care of him and then go through the door (D17a) marked "Stores."
You emerge at the bottom left of the same map (through door D17b). Shoot the rat and then pick up rapid bullets behind the crates to the left of the door. Head to the right to pick up another OLD VALVE (OV3), rapid bullets (behind the crates) and a fourth OLD VALVE (OV4) near the wall on the right. You can't get over into the other side of the room yet, so return upstairs through the door on the left (D17b).
You should now have 4 OLD VALVES. From the storeroom door (D17a), go left. Hop down one level, shoot a rat on the level below and hop down there. Use 2 OLD VALVES at the machine (M1) on the far left. Return to the green machine (M2) to the left of the storeroom door. It can now be used to open the "Platform 1" door (D18a) next to the machine where you placed the valves. Return to the left and go through the door to a new area.
(NOTE: You might want to climb to the level above and use save crystal C5 again before going to the next map, since it'll be a while before you can save again.)
You enter this area at the top left (through door D18b). Climb down the short ladder to the right and drop. Step off the ledge on the right to fall into a flooded shaft below. The black-and-white door (D22) doesn't open yet, so swim down and right. There are two submerged subway cars here. Swim through the one on the left, hugging the bottom to pick up a small medipak. On the other side of the car, swim up to an air pocket.
Take a breath and swim down through the next car on the left. Between this car and the next is another air pocket. Take a breath and then swim through the space on top of the subway car to the right. Swim up the vertical shaft and surface. Climb out of the water on the left and run past the zombie into a shallow pit. Shoot the zombie from below, pick up a small medipak and shotgun rounds, and swim back down, left then up to the air pocket.
This time, Swim down and to the left. There's a pit with a single subway car where the tracks have caved in. Above this are two small, rectangular ledges. Pick up a small medipak on the ledge to the left. Then swim back to the right along the ceiling and then straight up the shaft to the surface.
Climb out on the ledge and blast the zombie with a single shotgun round. Then either switch back to normal ammo or take out the second zombie the same way. Don't waste shotgun ammo on the 2 zombies on the ledge. Instead, use normal guns to shoot the first one from below. Then climb up and run to the left to get the second zombie's attention, run back off the ledge and shoot him from below too.
Climb up, cross the ledge and take a running jump to the ledge with the save crystal (C6). Safety drop off the ledge and go through the door (D19a).

You enter the tiny pump room through the door on the left (D19b). If you try to activate the pump (P), you'll find that it needs fuel. For now, exit through the door on the right (D20a).
Subway - Map 13

You enter this area at the top left corner (through door D20b). Step off the edge to the right to fall in the pool below. Swim down and right, under the wall. Surface and climb out on the right. (You can also climb down the ladders, but this is quicker.) Go right, jump the gap and climb down the ladder. Pick up the FUEL CAN. Climb back up the ladder, jump the gap to the left and take a running jump to grab the ladder above the pool. Climb up and take another running jump to grab the next ladder to the left. Climb to the top and go back through the door (D20b) to the pump room.
Subway - Map 12 (again)
Now that you have the FUEL CAN, you can use the pump (P) to pump the water from Map11 into Map 14. After doing this, return through the door to the right of the pump (D20a) to Map 13A.
Subway - Map 13A
(NOTE: Map 13A is the flooded version of Map 13. The maps for the small side areas numbered 12, 13 and 13A are combined in one picture. See Map 12, above.)
You enter this map at the top left (through door D20c). Jump into the water and swim down and to the left to pick up a large medipak. Surface and swim to the right side of the pool. Climb out near the save crystal (C7). Pick up the small medipak off to the right. Then climb the ladder and get the 3 DYNAMITE STICKS (D).
(NOTE: You might want to save after getting the dynamite. I had to reload, forgot to pick up the dynamite again and went quite a ways before realizing it.)
Exit through the door (D21a) near the crystal to emerge in Map11A.
(NOTE: Map 11A is the drained version of Map 11. It is wider than a standard 8½" x 11" sheet of paper. Unless your printer automatically scales images to fit the paper, be sure to print it using landscape (horizontal) orientation, or the edges will be cut off.)
You enter at the middle right (through door D21b). Shoot the ceiling switch (S22) to open the black-and-white door (D22). Safety drop off the ledge and grab the ladder below. Climb down and let go to land on top of a subway car. (You were here before, only it was submerged.)
Jump to the top of the train car on the right and shoot the zombie down below before jumping down. Roll into the car to the right and pick up shotgun rounds and rapid bullets. Roll back out and walk through the next car to the left. In the car after that, you'll meet a fat zombie in a diaper. Tap the right button to step away while shooting him. Exit through the left end of the car and climb on top to find a save crystal (C8).
Hop down and continue left. Slide down the slope and climb on top of the subway car. Use the DYNAMITE at the spot with the green arrow to blow a hole in the roof. (Select it from inventory as you would a medipak and run away so Lara doesn't take damage from the blast.) Drop through the hole you just made and pick up the TRAIN LEVER (TL).
Climb out through the hole and then climb onto the small platform to the left. Take a running jump to the right to land at the top of the slope. Shoot the fat zombie through the slats and then roll into the car to pick up a large medipak. Roll out, slide back down into the pit, climb onto the train car and then onto the platform on the right. From there, take a running jump to the top of the slope on the right side.
Head right and climb onto the first train car to use the save crystal (C8) again if you want. Climb back down and run through the two train cars to the right. At the space between the two rightmost train cars, climb onto the car to the left. Climb the ladder to the top, jump to grab the ladder behind, climb up (past the black-and-white door D22) and jump to grab the next ladder. Climb to the top, go left and jump to grab the short ladder above. Climb to the very top of the room.
(NOTE: There is one more pick-up, a small medipak, to be had in this level. However, in getting it, Lara loses more than half her health. I don't think it's worth it, but if you want it, safety drop off the left side of this ledge. Safety drop off the next ledge and go to the right to find the medipak in a shallow pit. You shot a zombie here in the earlier, flooded map. Safety drop from the opening to land near save crystal C8. Hop down on the left side of the car and then backtrack right through two cars and up the ladders to the doorway at the top of the map.)
Exit through the doorway (D18c) to return to the generator room.
Subway - Map 10 (again)
You re-enter this area at the middle left (through the door near the "Platform 1" sign, marked D18a on the map). Cross the map to the right. Beyond the storeroom door and green machines, hop down one level. Shoot the thug below and then hop down. Use the remaining 2 OLD VALVES in the machine (M3) at the far right. Return to the left and use the green machine (M4) to the right of the storeroom door to open the "Platform 2" door (D23a) back to the right. Go through to a new area.
(NOTE: This map is wider than a standard 8½" x 11" sheet of paper. Unless your printer automatically scales images to fit the paper, be sure to print it using landscape (horizontal) orientation, or the edges will be cut off.)
You enter this area at the top left corner (through the door marked D23b on the map). A fat zombie in a diaper starts attacking Lara, so shoot it quickly. Climb onto the ladder below and shoot the skinny zombie before dropping down. There's another fat zombie in the train car below. I found it easiest to deal with him by crossing over the top of the car to the right, dropping down and entering the car at the right end. Then you can back away from him while shooting.
Go through (or over) the cars to the right. There's a zombie on top of the third car, so shoot him from below or from the top of the adjacent car. Climb onto the second car and go to the middle, where there's a gap above. Shoot a fat zombie on the ledge above and climb up. Climb onto the ledge on the left to get some rapid bullets. Shoot the skinny zombie on the ledge to the right. Then take a running jump to grab the ledge and pull up. Get the shotgun rounds and step off the ledge to slide back down to the train car. (Or, to avoid health loss, climb back down the ledges.)
Pass over (or through) the third train car. (You can't reach the area above this car yet.) Mind the gap between the third and fourth cars. Safety drop into the gap and immediately draw guns to kill the zombie. Pick up a small medipak to the left and go through the doorway to emerge at the top of the same area. (These connecting doorways are labeled D24a and b on the map.) Get the large medipak and slide down the ramp to land on the fourth train car from the left.
There's another zombie in the car below. To avoid taking hits, get its attention then walk over the top of the car to the left end. The zombie follows. Run back to the right end, step off, draw guns and shoot the zombie as it returns toward Lara.
You can't get up to the area above the fifth car yet, and beyond the fifth car there are electrified tracks. So, for now, drop down between the fourth and fifth cars and enter the fifth.
A new area loads, but it's so small that I just appended it to Map 14. Inside the CONTROL ROOM, you'll find a save crystal (C9) and a control panel (S25) missing a lever. Use the TRAIN LEVER here to move the train forward. The map for this area after the train has been moved is Map 14A.
[NOTE: If you don't have the TRAIN LEVER, you'll need to go back to the generator room (Map 10). To get there, go to the left end of this map (Map 14), climb onto the first train car and then climb onto the ledge above. Go through doorway D23b back to Map 10. Follow the walkthrough above for Maps 10 - 11a to get the LEVER. Then return here.]
(NOTE: Map 14A is the same as Map 14, except the train has been moved forward, blocking some openings and making others accessible. It is wider than a standard 8½" x 11" sheet of paper. Unless your printer automatically scales images to fit the paper, be sure to print it using landscape (horizontal) orientation, or the edges will be cut off.)
Exit the CONTROL ROOM to the left. Watch out because the train car Lara's in is now above a gap.
Safety drop off the end of the car to land near a save crystal (C10). Go right, shoot a fat zombie and pick up a small medipak. Now go to the left. Kill the bad guy below before hopping down. Go through the door to emerge near the top of this map. (The two connecting doors are marked D26a and b.) Shoot the skinny zombie on the level below. Pick up the small medipak on the ledge to the right and then climb back over to the ledge where the zombie was. Shoot the fat zombie below and hop down. Slide down the ramp to land on top of the second train car from the left.
Shoot the zombie on top of the next car to the right. Then, if you want all the kills, hop down and go to the left, through this car and the next. Shoot another zombie on top of the first train car.
(NOTE: You can't get to the area above and between the first and second cars, or between the third and fourth, but you should have already explored up there before moving the train.)
Return through the train cars to the right. You'll encounter a fat zombie in the third car. Climb over the fourth car (boards prevent Lara from getting inside). There's another fat zombie inside the fourth car and a thug on the ledge above. If Lara keeps targeting the zombie instead of the thug, go to the right, jump to the next car (mind the gap) and turn around to shoot the zombie. Then jump back and go to the space below the ledge, so Lara can shoot the thug.
Climb up onto the ledge and go through the doorway (D27a) to a new area of storerooms.
(NOTE: You can climb the ladder to the right of door 27a and shoot another guy wearing flares on the ledge above, but if there's any way of getting the small medipak, I haven't figured it out.)
You enter this area near the bottom left (through the door labeled D27b on the map). Roll through the hidden passageway to the left. (It looks like a metal plate with rivets and an "X".) Climb the ladder on the left wall, shoot the zombie and jump over to the ledge on the right. Pick up the small medipak and climb back down. Roll through to the right and continue right behind the big stack of crates. A fat zombie materializes. Destroy him and then climb the ladder.
Roll partway through the hidden passageway to the right. When you see the rat, roll back out and shoot it. Then roll all the way through to the right and drop onto the ledge below. Hop down to the next lower ledge and shoot the zombie on the ledge to the left. Climb down the ladder, shoot the zombie below and then drop to the floor to get the shotgun rounds. Climb back up to the ledge where you came in and roll back through to the left.
Take a running jump across the gap to grab the opposite ledge. Pull up and shoot the thug with the club. (Or run and climb onto the ledge to the left and shoot him from there.) Climb up to the left and go through the door to emerge from another door on the floor above. (These connecting doors are marked D28a and b on the map.) Kill another nasty man and climb up on the right to find a save crystal (C11).
Go to the right, past the door (D30b) and jump down off the ledge. Shoot another bad guy. If you want all the pick-ups, go through the door to the right (D29a). This takes you to another storeroom. If you don't care about getting everything, you can skip that room and instead continue with the walkthrough below under "Subway - Map 15 (again)."
You enter this area on a landing at the middle right (through doorway D29b). Shoot the fat zombie and pick up the small medipak and shotgun rounds. Safety drop to the ledge below and shoot another fat zombie. Shoot a third fat zombie on the ledge to the left and then climb down the ladder to the bottom level. Walk to the right to draw out another zombie and back away shooting. Pick up the large medipak and climb back up the ladder.
Climb the next ladder to a level with a thug on the left and a zombie on the right but no goodies. Jump to grab the ladder above on the left and climb up. Shoot the zombie to the right and climb up another ladder. Shoot the thug to the right if you want to and then jump to the ledge on the left. Climb the last ladder to the top level. Get the small medipak and exit through the door (D30a).
Subway - Map 15 (again)
You re-enter this area through the door (D30b) at the top center, near the save crystal (C11). Go to the right, hop down one level and roll through the opening to the left with the two short columns. Pick up the small medipak and the GENERATOR KEY (GK) and go through the door (D31a).
Subway - Map 10 (again)
You re-enter this area at the bottom right (through door D31b). This is storeroom where you found two of the OLD VALVES earlierthe right side, which you couldn't reach before.
Shoot the rat, pick up rapid bullets behind the crates near the ladder and climb over the wall to the left. Cross the storeroom and exit through the door (D17b) on the left side. You emerge on the level above between the two green machines (through door D17a).
Now that you have the GENERATOR KEY, climb either ladder to the level above and use the key on the generator (G) to shut down the power.
Use the save crystal (C5) again if you want to and then climb back down to the level below. Go to the far right to the "Platform 2" door (D23a) and go through to the tracks.
Subway - Map 14a (again)
You re-enter this area at the top left corner (through door D23b). Safety drop to the tracks and go all the way to the right end of the train. Mind the gap between the fourth and fifth cars. If you fall through, go through the door to the left to emerge at the top of the map (doors D26a and b), climb down and work your way back to the right.
Climb over the rightmost car (the one with the control room inside) to the area with the electrified tracks. You can enter the control room and use the save crystal (SC9) again if you like. Since you shut down the generator (above in Map 10), the electrified track here is safe. Walk to the right to meet Pino Lamor.
Cut scene: Pino tells Lara that the creatures she encountered were zombies raised by the cult using the power of the sword. He explains that the cult plans to use Lara's body as a vessel to restore their leader, Madame Paveaux. Pino instructs Lara to ride the train to the harbor, infiltrate the cult's warehouses and find out where they are headed next. She agrees to go.
