Near CHECKPOINT 1 Lara looks up at the grate on the wall above the "Gift Shop" sign. Use the magnetic grapple to pull out the grate. Move the wooden crate from inside the gift shop under the opening.
Use it to climb up into the hole.
Shoot the small wooden box to get the bronze reward (1/9) inside. Use the grapple to pull out the metal grate at floor level. Duck through the opening and drop into the alley behind the building, where you'll find CHECKPOINT 2.
