After much pressure-ahem, sorry, encouragement-from friends and colleagues to join the 21st century, I have at last started a blog. My goal is to phase out the email newsletter, which wasn't working all that well anyway, and start posting regular updates on the blog instead.

In addition to Tomb Raider game news and other announcements, I plan to include some interactive features like contests, web polls and of course opportunities for readers to comment and share their ideas.

I will also be inviting guest bloggers to write about the things that interest them. I've already posted two feature articles: "Releasing Your Inner Lara" by Sara from tombraidercosplay.com and an introduction to the Tomb Raider Level Editor by Skribblerz.com's George Maciver. I hope you'll stop in, check out the articles that interest you and post a comment or two.

Lara's Rival by Will Turner and Ramiel - click for full-size imageACTION-PACKED NEW TITLE BANNERS

I'm very pleased to unveil three new title banners featuring Lara in action. One of the new illustrations appears above. You'll have to browse the rest of the site to see all 12, or visit my new blog, where you can see them all and vote on your favorites.

All of the banners were drawn by the brilliant artist Ramiel, whose work appears here courtesy of Atlantis Studios. To see more of Ramiel's work, visit Atlantis Studios or subscribe to the Tales of Lara Croft comic art fanzine at PlanetLara.com. A special issue featuring "Lara's Rival," with original story by Will Turner and illustrations by Ramiel, is available now.

Tomb Raider: Undeworld PS3 box - click for full-size imageBETTER LATE THAN NEVER DEPARTMENT...?

Eidos has just announced an update for the PlayStation 3 version of Tomb Raider: Underworld. On Thursday, May 28, players will be able to download a game patch to add PS3 Trophy support.

Six months after the original release date, Underworld is migrating into the bargain bins and being re-released in the U.K. as part of the less expensive "Platinum Hits" collection. If you missed the game the first time around, or you're ready for a rematch, cheaper price + trophies = 2 more great reasons to give Underworld a try.

I've included a tentative list of PS3 trophies on my Underworld Rewards page.
